Curriculum Specialist at Dry Ridge Elementary School
Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky teaching certification for elementary, middle, or high school
- Administrative certificate preferred
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience

SALARY:
Commensurate with the school district’s Certified Salary Schedule
Physical Qualifications: shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, and any/all body movements as related to the job description.
Job Goals:
To provide direct coaching, support, and technical assistance to school staff in district-wide initiatives and planning and implementing a comprehensive educational program that will improve student achievement.
- Alignment of Curricula, Instruction, and Assessment
- Assists the principal in advocating for the educational development of each student, and the professional development of all staff
? Works with principal and Director of Secondary or Elementary to ensure the production and implementation of written curriculum that is aligned with the Kentucky Academic Standards
? Coaches teachers by modeling high-quality instruction, collaborating on lesson planning, and providing actionable feedback on instructional delivery
? Provides direct support for new teachers and teachers who are experiencing difficulties in lesson planning and/or delivery of instruction
- Alignment of Curricula, Instruction, and Assessment (continued)
- Along with the principal and Director of Secondary or Elementary, facilitates or co-facilitates regularly scheduled collaborative meetings of teachers across grade/content areas to continuously monitor students’ achievement through a professional learning community process (PLC)
? Works with the Director of Secondary or Elementary to engage teachers in curriculum development, alignment, refinement, and evaluation processes
? Works with principal and Director of Secondary or Elementary to ensure a common vision for and effective implementation of school-wide and district initiatives (e.g., instructional protocol, standards-based grading, personalized/blended learning)
? Works with principal and Director of Secondary or Elementary to facilitate and lead all aspects of the blended learning program; serves as in-house technical support for blended learning program and as liaison with outside agencies that may support blended learning
? Coordinates all academic RtI for secondary students; facilitates referrals for special education
? Coaches teachers to provide direct support and technical assistance to staff in instructional areas including lesson preparation and modeling lessons
? Studies and stays up-to-date on the most current educational methods and best practices for students by attending conferences, participating in professional development, and visiting schools; facilitates professional learning with staff/school leadership to implement best practices
? Plans and facilitates professional development for teachers based on individual or collective needs
- Works with the Director of Secondary or Elementary to ensure implementation and evaluation of common formative and summative assessments in all core areas
? Coordinates the implementation of the MAP and other diagnostic assessments
? Facilitates data analysis of common assessments, MAP, state assessments, and other diagnostic assessments to enhance student learning and improve instruction across grade levels
? Works with teachers and Director of Secondary or Elementary to evaluate instructional resources including textbook selection for adoption
? Communicates and collaborates directly with other administrators about curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure a common vision/message
? Communicates and collaborates with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested to promote academic programs and provide support
? Along with the principal, facilitates the implementation of educational programs derived from the needs of students and/or staff
