The Grant County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
Assistant Principal at Grant County Middle School
This position is for the 2025-2026 School Year
Qualifications:
- shall hold a license for school principal.
- shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers and adults.
- shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and faculty.
Terms of Employment:
Days of Employment
- Middle School - 220 days
- High School - 225 days
Salary:
Commensurate with the school district’s Certified Salary Schedule
Physical Qualifications:
shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, and any/all body movements as related to the job description.
Job Goal:
To assist the principal in administering the school in a manner consistent with the district’s and principal’s belief, philosophy, policies, procedures and directives.

- shall present a positive image of the school to parents, and convey to them the school’s genuine concern with the education, growth and development of each student.
- shall seek to establish friendly and cooperative partnerships between home and school.

- shall carry out assignments in a timely manner without undue checking.
- shall react positively to directives.
- shall have a willingness to cooperate with the superintendent, district administrators, principals and staff.
- shall maintain the confidentiality, both verbally and in written form, of each student’s educational record.
- shall take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.

- shall represent the school at various meetings.
- shall conduct/coordinate individual and small group counseling sessions with assigned students.
- shall supervise personnel assigned to them in a manner consistent with school and district policies.
- shall assist in the development and implementation of curriculum as assigned.
- shall assist in the development and implementation of measures designed to ensure quality instruction.
- shall assist in budget preparation and implementation.
- shall supervise student activities.
- shall assist in setting, achieving and assessing goals related to the various school improvement processes.
- shall perform other duties as specified by the Principal.
